Good morning! I am Esperanza. I am 24 years old, and I am currently working as a community manager. I come from Cuenca.
Why is Cuenca a good city to start a business?
Honestly, for me, Cuenca, apart from being my hometown, is my favourite city in the world! I truly believe that it’s the perfect city to live in and to work in due to its closeness to the capital (Madrid) and to its natural surroundings. Also, Cuenca features a great cultural heritage, nature and delicious local cuisine.
I think Cuenca is a great city to start your own business since it has many unexploited market niches. Furthermore, the local population is interested in promoting Cuenca at a regional (Castilla-La Mancha) and international level.
Cuenca is also a digitally smart destination because new technologies and its reliable high-speed Internet connection offer a great opportunity to increase its notoriety worldwide.
What is innovation in Cuenca like?
In the field of innovation, Cuenca has big venues for gatherings, brainstorming sessions, networking and co-working facilities for different economic sectors. These third places foster improved cooperation opportunities between young people and the not-so-young to promote the city and its province all over the world.
How do you develop your occupation in Cuenca?
In my field of expertise -social networks and digital marketing in Cuenca, it is very important to have a fast Internet connection. The latest 5G and all the different connectivity networks are available.

Cuenca is the perfect place to work from anywhere. You can work in the mountains, among the trees, by the river…How is this possible? Let’s see an example, you can take photos and upload them on social media anytime if you bring your personal laptop and share your smartphone data effortlessly.
For me, It is a privilege to work in a completely natural space framed by lush nature. I also believe that Cuenca is a super convenient city to live and work in. You needn’t drive a car at all if you do not want to. You may walk or use clean public transport instead.
Actually, one of Cuenca’s best assets, for me, is the fact that you can go anywhere on foot.
Therefore, Cuenca is environmentally friendly with very low pollution levels. These are fundamental factors to work and settle down in Cuenca and to enjoy a high quality of life.
Does Cuenca offer you opportunities to work?
In order to work in Cuenca, especially as a community manager like me, I need a reliable high-speed Internet connection, a laptop and a mobile phone and Cuenca has them all! Thus, all the necessary and best tools are readily available in Cuenca without a problem.
